Located right next to Boramar beach, Notre Dame des Anges is one of the main symbols of the city. Its bell tower was built on the basis of a lighthouse which gives it a special charm and which today makes it one of the symbols of the city. This building has undergone several evolutions which marks its originality, it was first a lighthouse, then we added the bell tower and finally the dome in 1810. Originally, the first church in the city, named Sainte-Marie, was located on the site of the original city. On the occasion of the reorganization of the city by the architect of Louis XIV, Vauban, the Notre-Dame-des-Anges church was built to compensate for the destruction of this first church. The first stone was laid in 1684 and it was consecrated in 1691.
