Details of the activity
With its 32 km between Argelès-sur-Mer and Cerbère, the coastal path is made up of 16 stages. Accessible by all, it offers magnificent panoramas all along the coast. The coastal path offers a very beautiful hike on the Côte Vermeille, between Argelès-sur-Mer and Cerbère. 32 km trail, it will make you discover beaches, coves, villages and magnificent landscapes. The 16 stages of the coastal path allow everyone to enjoy the coast by offering stages of varied difficulty (easy, medium and difficult), of different duration (between 20 minutes and 2h35) and of multiple lengths (between 1 and 7 km ). By crossing chronologically the municipalities of Argelès-sur-Mer, Collioure, Port-Vendres, Banyuls-sur-Mer and Cerbère, varied landscapes are offered to you along this path. The sandy coast is mostly found at the start of the route, in Argelès-sur-Mer. From the starting point of the tourist office to Racou, there are many more touristy beaches that follow one another. After the Racou, the landscapes are transformed. The sandy coast becomes rocky. The beaches become coves, often less accessible and sometimes less crowded. Passing by the castle of Collioure, the port of Port-Vendres and the lighthouse of Cap Béar, the path allows you to explore the historical heritage of the territory. Between Port-Vendres and Banyuls-sur-Mer, Anse de Paulilles, one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, invites you to swim thanks to its transparent waters. The trail continues in Banyuls-sur-Mer, artistic heart where many artists have drawn their inspiration. The many capes (Cap l'Abeille, Cap Rédéris, Cap Peyrefite and Cap Canadell) lead you through the Cerbère-Banyuls marine nature reserve. Finally, a stone's throw from the Spanish border, Cerbère and its solar lighthouse close the trail. The coastal path promises you a hike, overlooking the sea, to discover the historical, natural and artistic heritage of our territory.
